Components & Architecture

Blogreplica.com consists of three components, the back-end, the front-end and the archive.
  • The back-end facility is responsible for monitoring blogs, detecting updates and retrieve new and modified blog content. After retrieving the new content, it is encoded properly and stored in the blogreplica.com archive facility.
  • The front-end facility handles user interaction. Initially, bloggers can register their blogs and set the backup options of their choice. Subsequently, bloggers can browse their blog archives, review logs and extract archived content.
  • The archive facility is responsible for blog digital preservation and proliferation.

Software Infrastructure

Blogreplica.com is implemented using widely adopted open source software.
  • Debian Linux powers our servers,

  • Mysql5 is used for metadata storage
  • Java runs on the backend, doing all the hard job of blog data retrieval, distillation and archive management.
